Who are We?
The Center of Studies, Measurement and Certification of Quality, CESMEC Ltda., is a private organization and independent dedicated to the benefit of Services of Engineering related to Product Certification, Analysis of Laboratory, Tests, Calibrations, Inspection and Certification of Systems of Quality.
From the moment of its creation, in 1968, CESMEC was conceived as a company of net technical character, without economic entailments with financial groups, companies of engineering, insurance companies or industries.
The laboratories and facilities of their headquarters in Santiago constitute, at the moment, a set of 6,500 m2 with equipment and instruments of high technology. These facilities practically duplicate when considering the Regions of the country.
The personnel of CESMEC is made up of more 550 people, among them a staff of 450 professionals and technicians dedicated in time complete to works of laboratories and land.
With the purpose of assuring an efficient operation, CESMEC has divided its operational activity in 8 Technical Divisions, operating through all the country. These Divisions are:
- Division of Industrial Inspections.
- Division of Chemical Analysis in Area Minerals and Metals.
- Division of Chemistry and Food.
- Division of Civil Engineering.
- Division of Certification.
- Division of Maritime Services.
- Division of Metrology.
- Division of Environment.
In Chile, it has a Regional unit communications net operating in the following cities, Arica, Iquique, Calama, Antofagasta, Copiapó, Valparaiso, Talcahuano, Puerto Montt and Punta Arenas.
CESMEC also has offices in Argentina, Peru and Ecuador.
It is difficult to summarize the experience that CESMEC has won throughout 35 years of activity, in the different productive areas in Chile. Nevertheless, we can mention the following thing:
CESMEC, from their foundation has participated in many industrial projects and megaprojects in Chile in the mining areas, trains fishery, cellulose, oil, construction, ports, etc. At the present time the company provides services to near 3,000 clients through its different lines of services. This number means an important profit for a Chilean company of services that provides attendance to an ample phantom with industrial and commercial companies.
Finally, it is important to emphasize that CESMEC is member and participates through its executives in multiple organizations, international nationals or, such as: FOSFA, GAFTA, IFFO, ASTM, AWS, ASME, IS BORN, AOAC, NCSL, SMA, ASM, ACHICC, CHILMET, CBC and ASIMET between otras.
